Morning Snack: tea, sugar free raspberry syrup over Greek yogurt
Lunch: turkey roll ups (skim ricotta and mustard)
Afternoon Snack: ff cottage cheese
Dinner: beef and broccoli (minus the broccoli for me!), wine and oat bran cookie with a lil cream cheese

Oh my lordy I may be in the 30s tomorrow!!!!!!!!!  WOW - such high emotions there.  The lowest my hubby has ever seen me is 236, and if I keep going like this, he will see me lower than that in February!  WOWOWWOOWW.

As I look over the last month, I have def had some highs and lows.  But overall, this diet is working for me and I am super pleased with the results so far.  So much so that I am VERY motivated to keep going and going.  I think I would be happy with an average of 10 lbs a month.  that seems very doable, at least in the beginning because I do have so far to go.

My walking/stairs is now on hold as I was put back into a boot for six weeks.  I'll be doing PT once a week too, but lets cross fingers that this solves the problem and I can get back too it!  I have decided to do light yoga, stretches etc (what is tolerable) on my Wii Fit Plus - prob starting this weekend.  And sometimes, don't laugh, I do a bit of shadow boxing at my desk at work and maybe some leg lifts, arm curls (with water bottle) etc.  Every bit counts right?!?!?

Lately, Ive been having a cup of tea before bed, dunno if it is helping things move along but my bladder sure has been more active lately!!!  I went #1 four times from the time I got up till I left the house!  And I think twice in the middle of the night!  Sheesh!

No tea tonight as I had wine craving and succumbed.  I'm ok with it.

Another note, while I'm the lowest Ive been in a few years, I just don't feel it.  I still fill like a super obese woman...maybe that will change with a few more pounds lost?

Cruise Phase - Catch up:)

Loss: 2 lb
Total: 11.1 lbs
CW: 240.8 lbs

YAY, PC is back and fixed!  Wonderful hubby even connected it back up tonight before he left for appts - he so rocks!

I've been doing good, staying on point!  Mon-Thurs is still PP days and I think so far this is working best for me.  I am checking my weight each day and again the awesome hubby is working on a data sheet so we can analyze it all.

I've had some cravings lately for baked goods, its probably because I am out of oat bran and not having my cookie/bars.  I did order 6 large 32 oz bags off amazon so they should be here tomorrow.  Which also might be why I am a lil um bloated....not feeling like everything is releasing in the mornings.....

Not much else to report on.  Will start up again with the daily logs and calories etc.  But for now, that's it....going to eat my lean ground beef, drink my tea and read for a bit till everyone comes home.

Till tomorrow,
Tricia

EDIT: Did you notice I made my first 10 lb goal - WOOT WOOT!  Gonna get eyebrows waxed this weekend:)

Darn PC

Good Morning all!

Our PC at home took a dive and it is in the repair shop.  I will keep track of info and make one long blog to catch up once it is back.  I'm still on track and doing the Dukan.  Will touch base again hopefully by friday!

Take care,
Tricia

If you noticed, no oat bran today.  1. because I am low and 2. because the meatloaf my mother in law made (super yummy!) has bread crumbs in it.  So hopefully, it all balances out.

As you can see I did weigh myself this morning, its not official but like I said we are going to try and track all this to see my rhythm.

Breakfast filled me up so much that I wasn't hungry until about 330 this afternoon, so skipped lunch:)

Its late and I was up way too early this morning, so g'night all!

Lunch: spinach salad with left over chicken from last night
Dinner: baked chicken with a lil bit of ranch dressing powder mix, butternut squash chili soup and WINE - ugh

Ok so yes I should be thrilled, that is a loss from last Friday, yay.....really tho, really!  I'm still at 243.4....seriously!  Its been two weeks on the Cruise Phase and I have NOT moved below the total 8.9 lbs I had lost then!  GRRRRR.  Seriously not happy.  I'm going to keep going, but geez, fat cells cease and desist and move the frick on!

About to go to bed and I confess I had a few glasses of wine tonight. So not on plan but right at this moment I really don't care.  My ankle was killing me after only doing 4 flights of stairs. Ibuprofen did absolutely nothing for it.

I initially didn't think this diet was hard.  Food wise, it isn't, but mentally after that initial high of the first phase, yes this is hard to hang tight to see the scales fall in their own time.  So tomorrow, back on board.  Hubby and I, well hubby, made up a spread sheet, so hopefully we can collect data and see where and if certain foods, water intake etc effect the weight loss curve.  Geez, I'm tired, dunno if explaining right. But basically, going to start weighing each day. And as we gather data I will take away dairy, or lower fat significantly, or lower or raise fluid intake (water, tea, coffee) and see where my personal weight loss optimization is.

Bummed I didn't have will power to tell myself no to wine tonight, but will get back on the wagon tomorrow.  Embarrassed I'm having to write this, but tomorrow is a new day. Night all!

Breakfast: Coffee, turkey sausage and quarter cup egg beaters and one whole egg, oat bran cookie with a lil bit of cream cheese
Lunch: ground beef with salsa and ff sour cream
Dinner: roasted chicken
Dessert: Pistachio pudding (ff and sugar free)

Dinner was soooo good! We seasoned skinless chicken breasts with lemon pepper, lil salt and paprika, yum! And the ff pudding is in the fridge setting now.  Looking forward to that treat!  I've read some people mix a bit of the pudding mixed with their plain yogurt, I may have to try that!

My afternoon was actually pretty busy, so didn't remember/have time for my afternoon snack.  I'm ok with that:)  And I ate lunch a bit earlier and wasn't starving when I left work, yay!

I had my second appt for acupuncture, was so relaxing I actually snoozed I think.  Not sure what to call it. I closed my eyes, breathing deeply and then heard myself snoring a bit!!!  But I wasn't asleep, how strange!  And the gal felt my pulse before the start of the treatment and asked if I was tired.  I said yes, how did you know, she said my pulse told her!  Creepy! LOL and they look at your tongue every visit.  I want to learn more about this!  But anyhoo, at the appt she "needled" me for a boost of energy and it WORKED all day.  PS she didn't tell me until I was leaving and I was feeling like I was slightly bouncing off the walls.

Weigh in is tomorrow and I am super anxious about it.  I know that this diet will work for me, so I'm trying to be positive and not "care" what the scale says.  But I know me and the number on the scale will ALWAYS affect me:(  Gonna try for a good nights sleep.

AND one more note, I did some chair exercises that I found online at work today.  Nothing extreme, just did a few sets.  But I felt good after.  I even think I will look up one of those mini peddlers to put under my desk!  At least keep circulation going through my legs.  OH and I found a place that is on the way home in my commute to do some PT.  Talked with a PT there for a few this afternoon and feel good about it.  Hopefully that helps so I can do more walking, stairs, etc.

Take care all and be good to yourself!

Morning Snack: 1 hard boiled egg
Lunch: ground beef with salsa and ff sour cream
Snack: Turkey deli meat with a lil cream cheese
Dinner: bbq meatloaf (minus the bread crumbs for me)

Ok so this may be TMI, but I did not weigh as I thought I would to sneak a peek because I didn't have my regular....movement this morning.  So will just have to wait until Friday, crossing fingers its a big loss!  Did you see that liquid/water intake, yay!  That's almost 13 cups!  I'm surprised I'm not living in the bathroom right now.  Although I will probably be up a few times tonight, flushing out!  LOL

And I didn't sleep well at all last night, so hitting the sack soon to try and catch up a bit.  Fat is super high, ugh!  I guess that is the trade off when you lower your carbs.  I've read about a "White Dukan" day that I may try to incorporate once a week.  You only eat lean white meat, IE chicken, fish, seafood and egg whites.  Nothing else.  I bet that would be a lower fat intake!

Nothing much else to report.  Feeling good that I'm sticking to this.  Hubby had chocolate tonight and asked if it bothered me.....honestly not at all.  I'm good.  However, I forgot to mention that the mother in law had corn chips for everyone else last weekend for fajita night.  Now THAT was hard.  I kept having to tell myself I could not just have ONE.....I knew better that I wouldn't be able to stop at ONE!  Lil victories ppl, lil victories!  they add up....g'night:)

Breakfast: Coffee, turkey sausage and 2 hard boiled eggs
Morning Snack: Low sodium turkey meat with a bit of cream cheese
Lunch: can of tuna w balsamic vinegar and a bit of ff feta cheese
Dinner: Asian sweet n spicy chicken tenders, ground beef, turkey deli meat and light blue cheese
Dessert: oat bran cookie and light cream cheese

Was very odd not having my "cookie" this morning before work:(  But we had the oat bran with the cheesecake over the long weekend, so I didn't make any cookies, will have to remember to do tonight before bed. And I didn't pack enough food for work today, will make sure I take enough for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

For dinner, we didn't have enough chicken for the whole family.  Remember I am planning and cooking for kids and a husband too.  So I browned up some ground beef and poured extra spicy sauce over that.  Was really good and now I have extra meat for snacks and etc.  I ended up being really hungry on the way home, so when I got in I had a few slices of the low sodium turkey with a bit of blue cheese.  Will make sure I plan better for tomorrow.  You would think after 22 days I would have this down a bit better, uh no.  LOL

Do you see how low those carbs are?  Woo hoo!  I might peek at the scale tomorrow, but of course it wont be official until Friday. Fat is still a bit high.  Will have to really look at some things and see where I am getting it all from.

I did do some stairs today, but on the second trip my stinky ankle started killing me:(  Wish that would quit soon!  I do enjoying walking, stairs, things like that but the ankle is really holding me up.  Dr wants me to do physical therapy but I commute 1.5 hr one way, so I would basically have to take an afternoon off for a 1 hour appt.  Might have to suck it up and just use the time, since dr thinks it really will help.

I'm super tired again, so having my oat bran cookie, reading for a bit and then hitting the sack.  Take care all:)

Lunch: chicken breast with light blue cheese, can of tuna w balsamic vinegar and a bit of ff feta cheese
Dinner: pork chops with turkey bacon beer gravy, couple glasses red wine
Dessert: Dukan cheesecake with a tiny bit of sugar free chocolate syrup and cup of coffee

Ok, OK, I know the wine is sooo not dukan. But I'm in this for the super long haul.  I have to be realistic and expect and accept some minor detours.  The wine was super good, and needed, sorta! lol.  As you can see, my carb intake was still below 50 g, which is what I aim for everyday.  So I'm ok with it.

We are supposed to get blasted with snow tonight, sad I want a snow day for my lil one so I "have" to stay home?  LOL - its not that much out there right now.  Hope we get more:)

Awesome hubby and I tackled the house today and I have to say it looks pretty darn spic and span!  So happy when we have a clean house.  Plus, lil one's laundry is all done (hi5!) - how is it she has more laundry than all the house combined?!?!!?

Ooooh and dinner was a super duper find when I went searching for dukan friendly recipes!  OMG soo yummy.  And the pork loin chops were so thick!  They came from our mega shopping trip at BJs to get big chunks of meat and we had them butcher and portion out for us.  1.79 a pound I think for the pork, winner! (recipe has been added to my recipe page:))

So beat, and a lil past my bed time, I should sleep pretty hard tonight!

Take care all!

Saturdays dinner with my mom in law was awesome!  That glass of wine was sooo fantastic!  Def a nice treat with great company:)

This was a football day!  YAY, too bad our team did not win.  They actually played the worst Ive seen them this season, wahh!  Anyhoo, the food day was super good tho.  Probably needed to drink a ton more liquid, but oh well.
Breakfast: steak and eggs
no lunch still full!
Dinner/football food: Zucchini boats (hamburger and salsa in zucchinis topped with a lil cheese), unbreaded buffalo chicken with light homemade blue cheese dressing, veggies and homemade light ranch dressing( again homemade)
Dessert: from the Dukan website, their cheesecake - it was not sweet at all, so I added more splenda stuff and the crust wasn't my favorite, so will do with the oat bran cookie next time:)

Lots of lil errands today and then football.  Food was really good, but need to work on Water/liquid intake lol.

Sorry these are combined and somewhat shorter, I knew this was going to be a packed weekend.  Will blog about today before bed!

Dinner: baked chicken

Really really disappointed in the scale reading this morning.  No idea what I am doing wrong.  I'm floating between 243 and 244 this week.  It is just discouraging!  Even coming home from training this afternoon I had to fight myself about quitting.  Just letting go this weekend and then starting fresh on Monday.  I haven't caved in yet.  But after the fast drops of the Attack Phase, this is so frustrating.

Talked with a coworker today about it, and I am going to try Sat and Sun as PV days and Monday through Friday as PP days.  Trying to keep upbeat that I am down from where I was January first.  It is just really hard.  And I wont weigh in again until next Friday.

I ate a really late lunch because of training, so ended up only having a small bite of the lemon pepper chicken I baked for my dinner - lol. And I didn't pack any drinks for the training either, hence the water so low.

Very busy weekend planned, cleaning, finally taking down decorations, patriots game and then deep cleaning my daughters room.  So I may not blog until Sunday or Monday night.  G'night all!

Lunch: baked salmon with Greek yogurt spiced with a non sodium citrus blend and one chicken thigh from dinner last night w a few carrots
Late Afternoon snack: half a raw zucchini
Dinner: Asian Grilled chicken and broccoli
After dinner: ff plain yogurt w cocoa and splenda

Today is my husband's birthday, Happy birthday boo!  As a surprise I stopped on the way home and got him and the kiddos some Italian pastries.  Man was that hard looking them over and not indulging!  But I had my trusty yogurt:)

I dunno why I waited until today to have broccoli, I love it!  Even without the butter, was sooo good.  And the Asian Chicken is def one of our favorites! Carbs are pretty high today, yikes!  But I had a lot of fiber, so maybe it will balance it out.

I also tried acupuncture for the first time today.  I have an injured ankle that bugs me and mid to lower back pain.  It was very interesting.  I thought the needle pokes would hurt much worse but they didn't at all!  Couple of weird zingy like sensations laying there with all the needles in me but not too bad. I have a few more sessions and they are free through work ( yay for working in a hospital with students and interns!)

Not super tired, but I have an early start tomorrow morning so will be going to bed early.  I'm a lil nervous as I will be away from the office and not at home, so planning for tomorrow food wise might be a bit of a challenge.  Planning on packing some things that don't need a super fridge temp as I will only have an ice pack in my lunch tote.

Hopefully the scale is kind to me tomorrow! G'night

Late Afternoon snack: 3 oz chicken, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and one hard boiled egg
Dinner: slow cooker chicken with carrots (me minus carrots, family needs veggies still:))
After dinner: cup of coffee with lil nonfat creamer and splenda

Not feeling like I am losing any weight, but I didn't feel like I was during Attack either, so will just have to see what Friday brings.  Hoping for that wonderful "whoosh"!

Breakfast was really really goood!  See what I mean by variety, everyday I have something a lil different so I don't get bored and it works!  It was the same before the diet too though.  Hubby and I do 2 week menus and I don't think you would be able to find one that was exactly the same as any of the others.  We def have our faves but I am constantly adding to the list of recipes to choose from:)  I highly recommend checking out www.pepperplate.com to store and organize your recipes in this digital age.  As well as utilizing the menu and shopping list.  We simply add recipes to a menu and the shopping list and either bring my phone or his IPad to the store.  No paper wasted! Really has simplified our lives in that area.  And most recipes are easily imported from a number of websites.  We love it!

I wasn't really super hungry at dinner time so ended up only having half a serving, pretty good heh!?!?

I'm also finding that I am having an EASIER time on PP days vs PV days.  How odd is that!?!?!  I know I have my own schedule for the PP/PV days but Dr Dukan suggests 1:1. He also says you can do 5:5 or even 4:3.  Will have to see how the rest of this month plays out to determine what I will do for February.

Question: is there such a thing as TOO much water?  Dr Dukan prescribes drinking at least 1.5 liters, which translates to about 6 1/2 cups of water/liquid.  I def do more than that.....wonder if I am doing too much? Today's intake equates to 10 1/2 cups of liquid!

Breakfast: Coffee, shrimp, mushrooms and egg beaters. 1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt with splenda and orange extract (not my fave orange, but the yogurt texture was yummy!)
Morning treat: Skinny Cafe Mocha -mmmm chocolate Ive missed you! (skinny means skim milk and sugar free syrup)
Lunch: baked salmon with Greek yogurt spiced with a non sodium citrus blend over cabbage, raw zucchini and red bell pepper
Dinner: pork chop stuffed with ff feta cheese and spinach and some more halibut breaded with oat bran

So this morning I had yummy eggs, mushrooms and shrimp and was going to have the yogurt over my oat bran bar.  But when I pulled the bar apart it had like strings?  like webby kinda strings and ugh I could not eat it!  I wonder what happened, maybe they are old, or just can keep for so long....no idea but now have to get my oat bran in somehow today. I love my coffee so ordered today 6 of those big sugar free coffee syrups, very exciting!

And oops I didn't pack enough for snacks today.  Thought I would venture down to the hospital cafe for either some veg or meats....I haven't been down there since I started this diet.  (Pretty proud of myself there!) But I ended up making it through the day.  The salad was actually more filling than what I had anticipated.

I worked late tonight and hubby had full on kid duty, so for dinner it was the stuffed pork and he did (as usual) an amazing job.  So blessed to have him!

I found a new cool website with tons of support, recipes etc:  http://www.dukaners.com/  very exited to explore it more.

Of note, today I am really not tired.  Not exactly jumping with energy but I am good to go!  Last night I went to bed at 930 and I wasn't like bone tired.  Today was a long work day though, so def heading to bed early. My downstairs neighbor wants to hit the gym in the morning, but we are supposed to get a snow storm, so don't think I will venture out at 430 AM!!  Really need to get my Wii or DVD player hooked up again:)

PS next weigh in is Friday and is it silly to be really really hoping for that first lil milestone of 10lbs lost!!?!?!?!  Cross your fingers!

Breakfast: Coffee, shrimp and egg beaters
Morning Snack: FF Cottage cheese
Lunch:turkey meatballs and scallops
Dinner: ground beef and a lil pasta sauce and more shrimp
Dessert: Oat bran bar and Dukan cheesecake (need to eat it up and each slice is only 31 calories!)

So close to that first 10 pounds, I'm starting to notice it now.  My wedding ring is loose and rolling around my finger!  Chest is a tad smaller, and this sweater I am wearing today is a lil tiny bit looser in the stomach.  Wahooo!  Been thinking of NON- food rewards, and not sure if I should do like every 10 lbs or every 20 lbs. Whatcha think?

Also, I do have cravings still for carbs and sweets, but I think I have them handled right now with the oat bran bar and making up desserts for my sweet tooth.  I'm sure it will keep getting easier and easier as the weeks go on.

This weekend my mother in law wasn't feeling well so we did not go over there for our typical Saturday night dinner.  And therefor I did not have a glass of wine.  Will have to wait another week to test that theory, if one glass will affect my weight loss.  Dr Dukan says that if you go off the allowed food list for even one bite than you are stuck counting calories for the day.  I'll be very interested to see how the scale responds.  On that same note, I absolutely love wines and have been missing them greatly.  We actually have two opened bottles on the counter at home and I have continuously resisted!  YAY for me!

One thing I def am noticing that I don't have the yucky bloated feeling after meals.  I am getting full, but not feeling really yucky full that you sometimes get when you overload on carbs.  Oh and I am not that acidy either!  And I am not super tired today.  I pushed myself for two trips up to the fourth floor, OK the last one I had to talk myself into the last flight, but I did it.  And at the trains I took the stairs instead of the escalator!

So another day at success on this diet, next weigh in (officially) will be Friday.  I had debated if I would wait and blog then, but I like this accountability each day.  G'night all!

Football food: (GO Patriots!)  Seafood delight: lightly crusted (with oat bran) halibut, scallops and shrimp.  Woo hoo!

Wow - what a day.  New England Patriots schooled the Texans yet again....well OK it was a bit closer than the last time.  But I sure was a happy camper at the end of that game!

Had a hefty breakfast of eggs and meatballs lol, was super good.  And then man oh man halibut, scallops and shrimp for game time...Winner!  LOL dunno how to resize the picture... but are you jealous?!?!? :P  Can you see those awesome grill marks on the scallops? Gordon Ramsey would be so proud...hahahah!

PS I am SUPER full, most protein I have ever consumed I think, lol.

Lil nervous for weigh in tomorrow morning as today was higher calorie and sodium wise, but Dr Dukan says we can eat as much as we want from the allowed list...so lets see if it is true tomorrow:)

(Just realized I had a lil bit of roast beef too earlier in afternoon, so probably another 100-200 calories.)

Dessert: pseudo cheesecake (made with sugar free jello and ff cream cheese) - this was not my favorite but it did satisfy my sweet tooth.  Will continue to look for more recipes for this treat!

I didn't realize until now how frickin low my calorie intake was today.  But I'm not hungry at all.  So I am ok with that.  Watched a lot of football tonight, gotta love the playoff season.  And tomorrow will be another football mania.  It is a Pure Protein day tomorrow, so we have planned lots of fish/seafood dishes.  I am very excited about it!

More adventures tomorrow, g'night!

Dinner: chicken with leeks and sun dried tomatoes.  The recipe calls for flour but we will lightly bread the chicken with Wheat bran, also now allowed in small amounts and wont use the butter it calls for.

I have no idea why the scale has been so mean to me over the last couple of days!  I'm not sure exactly what I was doing wrong!  But the hubby helped me make the chart below and it IS steadily going down, so I cannot be upset with that.

The other part of Dr Dukan's diet that I haven't been really addressing is the prescribed exercise.  He states during the Attack Phase to get a 20 min walk in.  Well, I work in a hospital and some days I am all over the place, plus I commute so walk to trains and buses etc.  I have added walking up at least 4 flights of stairs a day, but will now start to increase that.  Also, because it is New England and dead winter, taking an evening walk is really out of the question!  So I asked hubby to figure out the cables etc to hook back up our Wii or DVD player. I'll get in at least 30 minutes with the stairs and/or doing something along those lines for now:)

All above was written earlier today.  In all I did 15 flights of stairs, 3 sets of the 4 plus a few extra:)

One thing I am noticing now that veggies were added back is that my tummy is NOT happy with me right now.  Hopefully, that all will level out soon.  G'night:)

Breakfast: Coffee, 1 oat bran cookie, .half cup egg beaters, Low sodium turkey deli meat, 1 tsp of ff cream cheese
Lunch: can of tuna with balsamic vinegar
Afternoon Snack: FF cottage cheese, last of the left over steak - mmmmm
Dinner: creamy slow cooker tarragon chicken - new recipe just wont have the carrots in it.
Dessert: Nonfat plain yogurt with splenda and orange and rum imitation with a smidging of cream cheese

Ok so I'm not really surprised by the no weight lost today.  I had regular cheese yesterday and the slices of pepperoni, which both were high in fat.  So I have been really good today and I think canned tuna might be my best friend over the next couple of days.  One can has only 1.4g fat and a whopping 42 g of protein.  Doih!  Why haven't I been eating this everyday!?!?  Oh yeah, because I get bored easily LOL.

And yes I know the calorie count is super low, but as you can see I ate ALL day long and am not hungry.  I think its good to go up and down sometimes with the calorie intake to "confuse" your metabolism.  I guess we will see how the scales like me in the morning, eh?! :)

I cannot tell you how excited I am for veggies tomorrow, think I will take this tuna cabbage sesame salad for lunch and I may whip up a quick batch of WW veggie soup so I will have plenty to snack on.  Although, I'm typing this now mid afternoon, who knows what I will be up for once I finish my commute home. Also, I think we will make this chicken and leek with sun dried tomato dish tomorrow night....mmmmm:)

Anyhoo, overall, I totally survived the Attack Phase and Dukan is right - this fast paced weight loss does give you that inner spark that we can do it...and I have for 10 days.  I kinda had wished I woulda hit the 10 lb loss mark during this time, but I guess I will be ok with 8.3 lbs in 10 days!  Ummmm....yeah I am really ok with it:)

Take care all and yippee to tomorrow being Cruise Phase Day One!

Breakfast: Coffee, 1 oat bran cookie, 2 hard boiled egg, small chicken breast
Morning Snack: Low sodium turkey deli meat, 1 tbl of ff cream cheese
Lunch: Shrimp, cheese, pepperoni and 1 chicken thigh
Afternoon Snack: none, full!
Dinner: Coffee Braised Pot roast

Today was the work party thing...and Success!  I stuck with shrimp, some pepperoni, cheese and there was a chicken thigh dish which was pretty good.  Plus, I worked to help set up, heat up food etc and walked A LOT today.  Just shy of 10,000 steps.  I am really proud of my will power not to have all the other yummy looking food - I just kept telling myself next year I should be at goal weight and in the third phase, Consolidation, so I can have the food:)

Food intake was pretty good today.   Fat is high and carbs are a bit higher - thanks to the pepperoni - oops!

I had forgotten the baking powder on the first batch of the cookies and I made a double batch last night and they turned out more cake like.  I didn't do drops on a sheet but put them in a rectangle casserole dish and baked a few minutes longer.  It was pretty good.  I even added cloves and nutmeg along with the Cinnamon too!  Hubby tried a few crumbs and he even liked them!  Winning! (OH no, he reads this blog and now will probably find that darn YouTube of Charlie Sheen!)

Hubby and I had discussions several times about doubling dinner meats because I am on this diet.  Meat is soooo expensive and I don't want to basically double our grocery bill. That's ridiculous.  So am going to try and eat more during the day from the allowed foods so that I only need the one serving of meat at night.  I think it will be easier once I can add the PV days in so I can load my plates with that.  Plus according the the FitBit log reports, I should try to keep the evening meals under 30% of my daily intake while trying to lose weight.  Its usually around 33-35%.  So maybe next week I will make sure to pack a heftier afternoon snack for work and eat light at dinner - which I think is better anyhoo.

Still ready for bed much earlier than usual, but honestly sleep is so important that I don't feel too bad about it.  It is just barely 9 pm and I'm off to bed.  Last Day of Attack Phase tomorrow, woo hoo!

Lunch: more left over steak with ff sour cream
Afternoon Snack: FF cottage
Dinner: Chili rubbed pork chop made with brown sugar substitute:) and a small chicken breast

Hubby and I found a brown sugar substitute for the rub that went on the pork chops.  It was super yummy.  As always, we started debating what else we could put the rub on:)  We are going to try it on some fish this weekend for the big game. Go Pats!

I'm still pretty tired and waiting for that boost of energy.  Hopefully, it kicks in soon.  And I'm really hoping for a more significant weight loss tomorrow.  Cross fingers, I really watched the carb intake today, so hoping it pays off tomorrow or the next day.

I am almost through with the Attack Phase of the Dukan Diet.  Friday I get to have veggies again, yay!  I've always loved veggies and especially salads.  So excited.  Tomorrow is a work party/lunch thing and a wonderful co-worker came to me and said not to worry she was bringing shrimp for me to eat, so sweet!

In the next phase you rotate pure protein days with protein and veggie days.  Since we always go to the in laws on Saturdays I wanted to make sure that those days are PV (protein and veg).  So I worked out the rest of the month so that Sunday and Monday are PP (pure protein), Tues and Thurs are PV, Wednesday and Friday are PP and Saturday are PV days.  Also, I think I am going to allow myself one glass of wine on those dinner nights.  I have to be realistic and make this work over the next year, and denying myself that one small pleasure is just not going to work.  It will give me something to look forward to all week:)  And then following up with Sunday and Monday as both PP days should hopefully level that out.

Hubby saw chocolate on the TV tonight and said ooh that looks good.  And it did and gave me a small craving for it:(  I love food, I loved baked goods, I love fried foods.  Heck, I'm a food addict lol!  So I am really quite proud of myself for sticking to this so well.

One final note before I crash, I think my fat intake is too high. I'd like it to be 25 or less but that might not work with this diet so far the next shopping trip, will try to plan menu to get the fat at least in the 30's.  Should help when I start adding veg back in.

g'night all!

Not really surprised by this at all.  My carbs were like 30 g higher than what I have been having on this diet.  Really need to watch that - but honestly it wasn't too bad and at least I didn't gain.  So I am counting yesterday a success regardless!

Didn't plan well for food for work, had nothing to snack on for the afternoon.  But dinner was delish, I looooove steak and there is a couple left over so will have one with breakfast tomorrow:)

Its Monday and I'm beat - so heading to bed.

Afternoon snack: FF cottage cheese
Dinner: Balsamic vinegar chicken with sweet onions

Carbs were much higher today than other days, it was the milk in the latte and and dinner had some major carbs. We will see tomorrow how it affects the weigh in.  I'm guessing that I wont keep going with these large drops daily, I know that it will slow down.  But I am determined to keep going. My Attack Phase will end on Thursday and I will be able to have vegetables again, yippee!  Looking forward to the different texture and taste.  Although, I'm still doing pretty good with the Pure Protein.

Once I go into the Cruise Phase, I will only weigh myself twice a week I think, well, those will be the official weigh ins.  LOL - I am sorta a scale junkie!

Very busy day at work tomorrow, so off to bed somewhat early tonight.  Take care all!

Dessert: Non fat plain yogurt mixed with cocoa powder and splenda

I knew I was supposed to lose fast in this attack phase, but man am I tickled pink!  Feels good, really good.  And yeah, I know its probably a lot of water weight, but still, to see the scale sliding down that fast and not be hungry??!!?!  Amazing!

Last night was tough though, the hubby and I usually always have a few drinks on Friday nights and waaaah, I didn't since I am on the diet.  On a good note though, was in bed by 9 PM and got almost 8 hours of sleep, yay!

Every Saturday we go to my in laws, its usually a really yummy 3 course meal.  Start with wine and salad and biscuits, the main dish and then many desserts to choose from.  My wonderful mother in law has lost a lot of weight doing low carb and she knew I was starting this, so she made everyone else pizza and lovely seasoned chicken breast for her and I.  Delish!  I did miss the wine terribly and when she put out the treats I looked longingly at them, but resisted!  The scale has just been too good to me these last few days that I didn't want to muck it up for a brownie.

For a treat tonight I made the hubby and I some yogurt flavored with nonfat cocoa and splenda.  Wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but it worked to make me feel like I was indulging.  Tomorrow I think we are going to try to make it in the morning and put it in the freezer for a frozen treat.  I think it will be much better.  Also, the verdict on the oat bran cookies, total winner!

Reading through my first post the day before I began I was looking at the chart for what the Dukan site said I should lose in the 5 days, it is eerily correct!  It said I should be around 246.71 and I weighed in today at 246.4!!!!!  How cool is that!?!?!

Well that is it for tonight, more tomorrow!

Morning Snack: 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch: Deli Chicken strips, fat free cream cheese mixed with a super yummy spicy sauce
Afternoon snack: Fat Free cottage cheese
Dinner: Stuffed Chicken Breast. x2 (two halves of a whole chicken breast...probably 6-8 oz)

So today I am super tired. But again, it was a super stressful holidays, so I am not so sure if it is the diet or just stress.  Looking forward to the boost of energy I read so many others having.  My chicken patties seemed to salty this morning...bleh!  But the yogurt dip helped!  Lunch was sooooooo yummy! Wish I had more for tomorrow.  I hope we will have left overs of the stuffed chicken so that I can take to work tomorrow for lunch:)  (It's still cooking but it sure looks nummers!)

I wasn't really surprised by the low weight loss this morning, especially after the enormous sodium intake yesterday, i was just happy for a loss....period!  The sodium was much much better today!

In case any one is curious, I have a FitBit that logs my steps, sleep, activity etc.  On their website I do log my food, which gives me those cool stats above.  It also gives me a nifty weekly report of all of the above.

Water intake probably isn't as high as it should be.  Will try for 80 oz tomorrow!  I also think fiber is quite low and am fiddling with the idea of adding a scoop of that disolvable fiber stuff to a cup of coffee tomorrow morning.  AND I don't have any more chicken patties, which had the oat bran in them, so maybe will just mix it with the yogurt tomorrow morning????  Hmmmm, guess I haven't planned super well, LOL!

On a final note, I made a oopsie, thinking I could have two hard boiled eggs a day.  Reviewing the Attack chapter in the Dukan Diet book, I can only have 7 a WEEK, if my cholesterol is fine. Which it is, but Ive had 6 already.  Will have to perhaps make an egg white omelet tomorrow morning.  Egg whites are allowed unlimited.

For the required Oat Bran tomorrow, Im making some oat bran cookies, completely dukan friendly and looks pretty nummy.  Baking now, verdict tomorrow:)

Going to go finish making dinner and then off to early bed for me.  Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

OOOH, also, hubby happily reminded me that the Patriots are on a bye week this weekend, so I wont miss my alcohol beverage(s) for the game!  Thank you Patriots! ;p
