The Day before it all begins

I've been reading tons of other people's blogs on their success and struggles with the Dukan Diet, and find that I must keep this blog to 1. keep myself accountable and 2. hopefully, help/inspire others. (PS Thank you to all those Dukaners out there that have inspired me and shown me this can be done!)

I have also done all my homework, I have read the book from cover to cover (OK not exactly - it was on my kindle LOL) but did read it entirely.   And I have taken a month to mentally and physically prepare myself for this lifestyle change.  I did enjoy many of my favorite foods over the last month:)

However, starting this diet, I do believe this will be somewhat higher challenge for me as I do have kids and a husband that will not be following the plan, kids for obvious reasons.  Sigh, so I've picked out meals this week - starting tomorrow- where I can simply make mashed taters, rice or noodles on the side to give them all - and I will just have the meat.

I am a bit nervous that I haven't done enough planning for non-dinner time, so thankfully tomorrow is a holiday (Happy New Year!) and I can scrounge at home or run to the store. Also, a bit confused as the Dukan website says my Attack Phase should be 5 days, but the book says 7-10 days based on the amount of weight I need to lose.  I'm planning to go 10 but will adjust to 7 if that seems more reasonable.

Very happy though that Dukan and I are in tune with what I believe I should weigh and what my true weight is.  Honestly I do better with these if I think small goals at a time.  So the first will be 10 lbs:)

Happy New Year's Eve everyone, enjoy and be safe!

I am an extremely overweight 34 yo woman.  Ive tried many diets, some with minor success and some with no success.  I used to be especially in shape and healthy.  But over ten years of bad decisions and ugh!  here we are 90+ pounds over weight.

The best success I have ever had was when in the military I lost 22 lbs on the Atkins diet and was in the best shape of my life.  And incidentally felt the best ever!

So as we come to a close of the 2012 year - Ive desperately been searching for a new direction in my weight loss quest.  And settled on the Dukan Diet. Partly because I love meat lol and partly because Ive seen people have success and will have a few coworkers joining me.

I'm calling this a celebration month, as it should be with the holidays, but come January 1st I will be doing the attack phase for 7-10 days.

If you have any recipes, success stories, tips etc that you would like to share - please do!

Till January 1st, Happy Holidays everyone!
